In a

nutshell

As a first-to-market application for the housing industry, Taylor Wimpey challenged us to create an online configurator to help their customers and sales team specify the finishing detail on house purchases. We designed a frictionless digital experience to guide users through the complex process of choosing and specifying their dream home. 

Defining a process

We made the most configurable spaces like, kitchens and bathrooms, the first port of call. By implementing a three-level navigation we offered fast access to every option, while encouraging a linear journey. Defining a home is a shared and dynamic experience, we had to ensure all functionality was just as accessible on mobile devices.

Sharing the load

With so many options and multiple build stages for every house type, save and return functionality was crucial. Our interface allowed multiple users to revisit their progress from anywhere, on any device. With the ability  to share the process, and lock down or restrict certain users from making selections. Just imagine the arguments we saved.

Increasing uptake

We incorporated a notification system that alerted users when a certain build stage was nearing completion, giving them a second chance to change their mind. At the same time we were able to promote upsell, a business KPI.
